Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, MGMT, & The Shins appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s Pink Floyd Tribute Week
Next week on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, he will be paying tribute to the legendary rock band that is Pink Floyd. MGMT, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, and the Shins will all be musical guests, covering Pink Floyd songs. Nick Mason and Roger Waters will be sitting down with Fallon, and Waters will also perform with the Foo Fighters. This is extremely exciting, especially for a rock fan such as myself. Sounds to me like Jimmy Fallon (or his producers) has an amazing taste in music.
Monday, the Shins will be covering “Breathe,” from Dark Side Of The Moon. On Tuesday, the Foo Fighters will cover “The Wall” with Roger Waters himself. Wednesday, MGMT will cover “Lucifer Sam”, and on Friday, Pearl Jam will end off the week with a cover of The Wall‘s “Mother”.
Pink Floyd will be reissuing all of their albums on September 27th, 2011.

Theophilus London- “I Stand Alone” (Gigamesh Sunlight rmx) & (Ocelot rmx)
To be quite honest, I just heard the original version of “I Stand Alone” on that How To Make It In America Mixtape Vol 2 and I loved it!! After doing some research I found two totally different, but great remixes of Theophilus London popular track “I Stand Alone”. The Gigamesh Sunlight Remix that I found over on 2dopeboyz has a more chill vibe to it rather the the Ocelot Remix. Gigamesh Remixes are always dope, so I highly recommend checking that one out if you want to hear something cool and different. Now the second remix I have for you today is the Ocelot Remix. Let me first say that this remix COMPLETELY differs from the Gigamesh Sunlight one, but still is nice. In the Ocelot Remix (courtesy of Skeetbeatz), the vocals are slowed down, but a lot of drum and bass are added and some dubstep is also included (surprisingly goes nicely with the slowed down vocals). This is a more fun remix that may appeal to different people. Although this song has been out for a while now, I just stumbled upon it tonight so I included the original version of “I Stand Below” below the remixes. I also included the official music video after the jump. All downloads are direct in this post.

James Blake – Wilhelm Scream (REMIX)

I’m not going to lie and tell you that I found this remix promoted as a Facebook ad, but who knew I would have actually enjoyed it and ended up posting it on YGM. I honestly just wanted to hear some James Blake and thought why not check out this remix. This just proves that FB ads stay winning over Google Adwords #justsaying. Alright, back to this James Blake Remix, the name had me a little iffy considering it was too long of a remix title to even read. But other than the title, the song was enjoyable and definitely different from the original. He didn’t change up the track drastically, but he managed to start the song off with echoing. Blake’s singing and building up to a dope beat he made plays through the track. It goes really well with the vocals and keeps it up tempo. I keep re-listening to this remix because I really like what he did on it. I’m pretty excited for James Blake’s release of his upcoming EP, Enough Thunder. You can check out my last post about James Blake here. Stream and download this remix below.
Side note, full title to this remix is “Wilhelm Scream (AN-TEN-NAE’S MORE CREAM FOR THE SCREAM REMIX)”.

Guns N’ Roses (more like Axl Rose…) Announce US Tour
Guns N’ Roses are touring the U.S. this fall starting on October 28th. All of the dates are not listed yet, but for now, the tour goes through the South and Midwest. It has been three years since the long awaited new Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy was released. I doubt anyone is still listening to that album, but I’m sure classic GNR is still played a lot, making this concert semi-relevant. But there is absolutely no chance of Slash appearing on this tour (although that would be amazing, his solo album and tour were great) because of the feud between Axl and Slash. It is sad since they ended on such a bad note, but whatever, Slash was successful independently. I’m not going to even post a link to buy Chinese Democracy because for me, looking back at the album now, only like three songs were memorable. Well, only three songs were kept on my iTunes. Um back to the tour
According to the group, they played 61 concerts in more than 30 countries last year, performing to a total of more than 1 million fans across South America, Canada, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
GNR’s current lineup consists of Rose, bassist Tommy Stinson (of the Replacements), drummer Frank Ferrer (of Psychedelic Furs offshoot Love Spit Love), keyboardist Chris Pitman, and three guitarists: DJ Ashba, Richard Fortus, and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal.
Hit the jump for the dates…
