Chris Webby just dropped his official first EP on iTunes. He has been giving us free music for years, so show him some respect and do yourself a favor, buy it. I’m not going to write much since I said it all in my last post on ‘What I Do‘. I’ve given this EP a couple of listens and it proves how Webby has matured as a rapper from his mixtape days. The production is a huge improvement and overral Webstre creates a great 10 song EP. Stream three of my favorite tracks below.

If you haven’t been diligently following the modern rock music scene, you probably think that The Killers just disappeared after “Somebody Told Me” and “Mr. Brightside”. Fortunately, they did not, and although their music has vastly changed since the days of Hot Fuss, they’re still a very talented group of guys. “The Cowboys’ Christmas Ball” has a country indie-folk feel to it, almost similar to that of Mumford & Sons. The video is a Christmas party in the wild wild west with cowboys and robots; cheesy as can be, but hilarious. Check out their recently released Christmas EP on iTunes.
Back when I started this site in summer, I thought Throwback Thursdays would be a great way to keep the site relevant…and then school started & I realized I’m a lazy blogger, so it never continued after 3 volumes haha. Well, today’s been a slow day for music blogs and its a Thursday, so I thought I would post a throwback article on two of my favorite freshmen artists (I don’t know if I can still call them freshmen anymore). Both Big Sean and Mike Posner dropped their major label debut albums last year, but I wanted to bring you some of their first collaborations that I still play on my iTunes till this day. Hit the jump to keep reading and check my favorite collabs by Sean and Mike.
On Nov. 15th, 1.21 Gigawatts dropped as an official mixtape from Ludacris. Rich & Flexin’ which features Waka is blessed with a music video.

2Less are 2 talented DJs/Producers from Germany. Although I can’t find much information about them, I am enjoying one of their most recent releases, ‘Ratava’. Stream the song below and check out their other tracks on Soundcloud.
The nominees for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards were announced yesterday and Kanye West has a total of 8 nominations including Song Of The Year for ‘All Of The Lights’. Although he was snubbed from the Album Of The Year category for MBDTF, he still stays winning with the most nominees. Bon Iver got nominated for Best New Artist and got nominees for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for ‘Holocene’. This is big for the Indie band and they also got nominated for Best Alt. Album Of The Year for Bon Iver (one of my favorite albums of the year).
Now, before we go any further, let’s first remember this is Grammys and the rules make little sense: 1.) The cut off date for an eligible song/record/album was September 30th, 2011, so Drake’s Take Care won’t receive consideration until next year. However, Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which was released in November 2010, was eligible. 2.) To be eligible for Best New Artist, an artist must have released, as a featured performing artist, at least one album but not more than three (which explains why Bon Iver is nominated on album number two.) 3.) The difference between Record and Song of the Year: Record of the Year is given to the artist who performs the song and the people who produce the track, while Song of the Year is awarded to the songwriter who wrote said song. – CoS
One of the nominees that I am most excited is Skrillex. He is up for 5 nods including Best New Artist. This is huge for EDM and just proves how Skrillex is one of the best new DJ’s out there. If you want to check out the rest of the nominations for the categories I thought you may be interested in, hit the jump. You can also go to Grammy to check the full list.
