The Gaslight Anthem- “45″

The New Jersey-based, Springsteen-influenced rock band Gaslight Anthem released the lead single to their 4th album Handwritten, entitled “45″. A great release by an amazingly talented band, featuring an infectious lead guitar part and an addictive tune. The band will be playing in Williamsburg on May 16th and Bamboozle on the 20th. If you like what you hear, be sure to pick up Handwritten on July 24th.

Official Release: Avicii ft. Salem Al Fakir – Silhouettes

After performing this track all over the world, Avicii has finally decided to release the track. “Silhouettes” is one of Avicii’s more popular mixes and it showcases his talents using synths to drive the melody of his tracks. I would say it is a must-have Avicii track. You can buy it on iTunes if you are in Sweden or you can buy it on Spotify. Check it out below.
Steerner & Tjernberg (ft. Vuk Lazar) – Ataraxia
Steerner & Tjernberg are back with another great mix. “Ataraxia” is the kind of track I’ve come to expect from the duo. With a great synth driven melody, “Ataraxia” will impress those who listen to it. Check out the track above and support my buddy Tjernberg by liking his Facebook page!
Wiz Khalifa at Vanderbilt’s Rites of Spring

Every year, Vanderbilt University hosts a three day music festival on their campus called Rites of Spring. I was excited for this since I decided to enroll here last year. Some of the most famous bands and artists have performed at Rites. Famous artists include Kid Cudi, Public Enemy, T.I., Drake, Lil Jon, The Roots, Ben Folds, Jason Mraz, Nelly, Run DMC, Third Eye Blind, Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many other famous acts (sorry, went a little nuts there). This year’s major headliner was Wiz Khalifa, which fit nicely for the weekend of 4/20. Wiz started off with great energy as he performed one of his more popular tracks “When I’m Gone.” In my opinion, he seemed to lose some energy as the concert went on. However, he did perform his new single “Work Hard Play Hard” towards the end of the concert, which we featured here. Check out the live footage of “No Sleep” and “Work Hard Play Hard/Black and Yellow” below.
Preview: Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman – Russia (Original Mix)
Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman are back again with a new track. This time, they gave us a preview of a new track titled “Russia.” As usual, they did not disappoint with the track. I can’t wait for them to release the full mix. The build up leading to the main melody is very well done. With tracks like “Russia”, the Swedish duo will continue to rise in the EDM scene and impress everyone who listens to them. “Russia” will be released through EMI/Virgin on May 21st, 2012. Check out the preview below and stay tuned for the completed version!
Special thanks to Dimitri Vangelis for sending us the preview and cover art! Keep up the good work!
System Of A Down North American Tour!
One of my favorite rock bands of the decade is touring the US for the first time since reuniting in 2010 this summer. The group went on a hiatus back in 2006, but it is safe to say that they have been back in the studio recently. The Armenian-American band will be stopping in PA, NJ, NY, DC, MA, MI, QC and ON in Canada, and IL. This will be the concert of the summer in my opinion! Don’t miss SOAD on tour. Hit the jump for the official tour dates and ticket info.

Update: Back to the top with the CDQ, Flo Rida definitely knows how to make a hit. Get it on iTunes here and stream it below.
