The Strokes dropped a new single today entitled “One Way Trigger.” The pop synths along Julian Casablancas’s opening vocals make this track slightly unrecognizable from past Strokes’ releases. It is good to hear the band trying out a new sound. The Strokes will be releasing an album this year, so look out for more new music very soon. Stream the uplifting free track, “One Way Trigger”, below. Grab the download over on the NY rock band’s website.

Crystal Castles released a new video for the single “Sad Eyes” off their recent release (III). The video has an eerie, vintage feel to it; something we’ve come to expect from Crystal Castles. Check it out above.
Bruneaux took to his Facebook a new remix from Unlike Pluto, a close friend of the Georgia producer Bruneaux. The sampled chorus from Mumford & Sons mixed with Unlike Pluto’s electronic instrumentals and hard hitting drops make this one a must listen for any EDM/Mumford & Sons fan. Surprisingly this remix flows really nicely. Who would have ever thought that Mumford & Sons and house music would work well together? Stream and download the crazy remix below.

The band that I stumbled upon in 2009 from the iTunes free download of the week is back with a new offering entitled “Miracle Mile.” The indie rock band does not disappoint on their refreshing new single.
A welcoming piano intro with backing drums open up Cold War Kids latest single. Lead singer Nathan Willet comes in soon after adding to the feel good vibe of the track with his high energy vocals. I’ll definitely have this song on repeat during the weekend. “Miracle Mile” will reside on Cold War Kids forthcoming album, Dear Miss Lonely Hearts, due out April 2nd.

The Airborne Toxic Event revealed on their website yesterday that they would be releasing their third studio album, entitled Such Hot Blood, later this spring. They also debuted their first single, “Timeless,” on Sirius AltNation, and now it is up for streaming on the Billboard website. As with all of their songs, “Timeless” contains intensely personal lyrics about love, life, and death written from lead singer Mikel Jollett’s life experiences. This song in particular deals with him finding his grandmother’s body in her room, and how sometimes life surprises him. However, he managed to turn his sadness into an anthemic charged single about love conquering all of the twists and turns life can throw at him.
