Dear Friends, Dear Jack

by Jason Sloan

Today is a sad day for the music world. Today, Andrew McMahon has announced on his website that his band Jack’s Mannequin will be performing its last concert on November 11 at the 3rd annual benefit concert for his Dear Jack foundation. I’m actually rather emotional writing this, as Jack’s Mannequin quickly became one of my favorite bands after I heard The Glass Passenger. I still consider their debut album, Everything In Transit, to be one of, if not the most perfect pop albums ever created. I’m truly thrilled to say that I got to see Jack’s Mannequin perform live with my good friend and fellow blogger. Hopefully, Andrew will continue creating inspiring music, and I hope to maybe attend a Jack’s Mannequin reunion concert at some point in the future. Read Andrew’s own letter on his blog here.

Check out some of my personal favorite Jack’s Mannequin songs below, but be sure to listen to all their albums. I promise you, these guys are worth it.
