Immortal Techinque- “The Martyr” [Free Album]

It’s been three years since we previously heard from Harlem rapper Immortal Technique, who dropped The 3rd World with DJ Green Lantern back in 2008. But it’s not like he hasn’t kept busy. The straight-shootin’ spitter chose to take some time off from music to focus on activist work across the globe.

One of my old hobbies and passions back in middle school was breakdancing. I remember being exposed to Immortal Technique and DJ Green Lantern and falling madly in love with the rhythm and the rhymes. The Harlem native stayed relatively low key for the last three years since The 3rd World, but it’s not like he hasn’t been on his grind.

The Martyr, a free 16-song collection, really showcases what this political MC has to offer. While we’re still waiting for The Middle Passage, The Martyr will definitely keep fans satisfied for now.
