ASTR – Operate (The Chainsmokers Remix)

The Chainsmokers are back at it again with another fabulous remix of ASTR’s “Operate”. The sweet melodies are accompanied by smooth vocals and a overall great vibe. What really separates The Chainsmokers are the bands they’re choosing to remix. Mostly picking Indie songs and converting them into dance tracks while still keeping that indie feel. Best…

Vampire Weekend- “Diane Young” & “Step”

Vampire Weekend released two new singles today off their upcoming album Modern Vampires Of The City. “Diane Young” is classic Vampire Weekend: fast-paced, indie, and catchy beyond belief. “Step” is the band’s version of a ballad; resulting in a very chill and beautiful song with a Beatles-esque vibe. Modern Vampires Of The City will be…

Bon Iver- “Towers” Music Video

Grammy-winning indie band Bon Iver just released a music video for “Towers”, one of my favorites off their sophomore album. As CoS pointed out, the main character seems to be taken from the cover of Led Zeppelin IV, which I thought was really cool. I love seeing new indie bands paying homage to the classics.

St. Vincent- “Cheerleader” Live on Conan

I originally heard about St. Vincent when Consequence of Sound voted “Cruel” one of the best songs of 2011. Check out this video of St. Vincent performing “Cheerleader” live on Conan, off their newest album Strange Mercy. If you’re into indie music, I highly recommend buying that album; listening to it as we speak. CoS

Adventure Club Dubstep

“Chill Dubstep” is dubstep for the people that hate dubstep; it’s dubstep that still sounds like music and not just a conglomerate of loud bass. Adventure Club makes some of my favorite chill dubstep songs, especially since they remix a lot of indie and rock music, stuff that you’d never expect to be made into…
