Throwback: The Walkmen – “The Rat”
Don’t sue me, because this song is from 2004, but I’m posting it because it’s one of my all-time favorite songs and not enough people have heard it. “The Rat” is unlike any of The Walkmen’s other songs that I’ve heard. They have a distinct, bright indie rock sound. “The Rat,” however, is completely up-against-the-wall, in-your-face punk rock. The blistering drums and howling vocals make me love it enough to post it on this site, even 8 years later.
