Logic Takes NYC By Storm (Interview, Review & Footage)

December 27th, Logic performed for a crowd of 1500, the biggest crowd he’s ever had, and what a performance it was. Before it all, we were lucky enough to sit down with him and ask him a few questions.  Watch the interview with Logic below and check out our review of his Brooklyn show here.  Hit the jump to read on…

Logic has got to be my favorite kid in the game – and not just from a musical standpoint either. Yes, he’s bringing lyricism to the forefront of the scene, but more importantly, he’s a down-to-earth youngin’ who’s got a great approach to everything. I’ve seriously got mad respect for this guy, for real, and his music has only been growing on me more and more. It’s no question that Logic is doing amazing things, but some people wonder what it is exactly that he’s doing right. In my opinion, there’s four main things;

1.) “If you don’t know by now I’m always on my grind” – Christmas day this kid was still in the studio!
2.) Logic’s got real talent. The kid can spit it – if you haven’t already, you can get a taste of his fast flow in his song ‘Mind of Logic
3.) Logic’s got great management! Not to be underestimated man. I don’t know if anyone can put a finger on it but they’re doing shit right down there with Tayyib as well.
4.) He loves his fans and he let’s them know that! He connects with his fans, whether it’s through his late night tweets(@logic301) or UStream. He actually shouted out this one kid who he remembered from the Brooklyn concert at this White Panda show.

I could talk all day about how much respect I got for Logic, but I think more than anything else, it’s just nice knowin’ that there are genuinely nice kids out there that share the same passion for music as we do here at YGM. It’s all about that good music.  And I guess that term, “good music” is really subjective to the listener, but I can say without hesitation that this is what Hip Hop is all about; the creativity, the lyricism, and the attitude.  I’ve got nothing but love and respect for @Logic301 and I can’t wait to see what he’s got for us in 2012.
