So here I am doing homework and drinking orange juice when this pops up on my Facebook news feed. It’s been a long time since we heard from Donald Glover (unless, like me, you’re an avid Community watcher). “Think of Me” is going to appear on the upcoming Funkmaster Flex mixtape. Gambino does his usual thing, spitting some real-lyrics integrated with great punchlines over a beat produced by Chemist. Hopefully this means he has more time to spend in the studio and maybe we’ll start seeing some more new material from him soon.

Southern rapper, Big K.R.I.T., delivered a smooth free mixtape entitled King Remembered In Time. The project is soulful and beautiful. Big K.R.I.T. handles all of the production on King Remembered In Time and the Mississippi artist did quite the job the production end of things. He also flows with ease over well crafted beats. Big K.R.I.T. delivered a project that will remain on repeat for weeks.

Live Sets: Armin van Buuren, New World Punx, and W&W at MSG for ASOT 600
This past weekend Armin van Buuren, New World Punx, W&W and Alex M.OR.P.H. brought A State of Trance 600 to the legendary NYC venue, Madison Square Garden. The energy in the arena was live and the performers did a fantastic job of keeping the energy high throughout the night. The stage production was impressive and each set was crafted together nicely. Armin finished his set up with some help from Trevor Guthrie, crazy lights, confetti and awesome fireworks. Tayyib Ali- “Keystone State of Mind 2″
Tayyib Ali recently dropped his anticipated new mixtape, Keystone State of Mind 2. Tayyib Ali hasn’t released a complete solo project since his 2011 mixtape, Keystone State of Mind. The Visionary Music Group rapper is officially back with a follow up mixtape featuring 16 brand new tracks and 2 tracks that were released as singles over the last year. Keystone State of Mind 2 features production from Statik Selectah, 2Astronauts, 6ix, Jahlil Beats, and more. With only one feature from Rockie Fresh on a previously released record, Tayyib holds his own throughout the new project. Keystone State of Mind 2 shows Tayyib’s progression as an artist. The project is compiled of positive and laid back music. It is good to hear the young Philly rapping going over a wide array of dope beats. New 2 Song EP By Showtek
Dutch duo Showtek released a new two song EP through Steve Aoki’s Dim Mark label. The Crunk/Slowdown EP leans towards more of a electro-house sound over that hardstyle sound that we have become accustomed to from Showtek. Showtek’s first offering on the Crunk/Showdown EP, “Crunk,” features loud vocals about partying and drinking over simple chords. The track then builds up into an intense drop, a bridge, and then a computerized sample. Play “Crunk” loud at your next party. The second track, “Slow Down”, starts off with a large build up and then bridges unexpectedly. The track then slows down into an electro chord progression that makes up for a festival hit. Both “Crunk” and “Slow Down” are high energy tracks and do not disappoint. Purchase/stream the EP in its entirety below.

J. Cole delivered a five track free EP out of the blue recently through his dreamvillain blog. The project, Truly Yours, features records that will be left off of his upcoming album, Born Sinner.
