Theophilus London ft. Menahan Street Band – “Rio”

Haven’t heard from Theophilus London in a minute so I was excited to see that he let loose a new offering today titled “Rio.” “Rio” features Menahan Street Band and was produced by Thomas Brenneck. “Rio” definitely has its island influences infused in the uplifting instrumentals. Outasight – “Drifting Away” & “Remember Me”

NY artist, Outasight, let go two leftover tracks from his debut album, Nights Like These. “Drifting Away” and “Remember Me” are two solid offerings with laid back vibes. Though poppy, both tracks are worth a listen. “Drifting Away” was produced by Mike Cash while “Remember Me” was produced by DJ Camper. “Drifting Away” is backed by heavy drums and mellow guitar chords. “Remember Me” is a more spacey jam that gives off a sing along vibe though it still remains gloomy during the verses and the breakdown. Stream Outasight’s previously unreleased track “Drifting Away” below and “Remember Me” after the jump.

Snoop Lion ft. Miley Cyrus – “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks”

Today we have an odd collaboration from two very different artists in the form of a summer/beach tune entitled “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks.” Snoop Dogg Lion connected with Miley Cyrus for “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,” a radio contender for this summer. The actress/singer, Miley Cyrus, lends some smooth vocals over the uplifting production from Major Lazer on Snoop Lion’s latest single “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks.” “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” will be featured on Snoop Lion’s forthcoming reggae album, Reincarnated, due out April 23. Stream the new single below and hit the jump to check out the track list to Snoop Lion’s new album, Reincarnated. This track definitely will gain a spot in the summertime/chill music section.

Kid Cudi – “Immortal”
Kid Cudi took to Twitter yesterday to say that he couldn’t wait until April for his fans to hear his new music, promising to drop something on Friday. Well, he dropped the much anticipated track “Immortal,” whose release date was originally in November, but it ended up being pushed back. It was totally worth the wait. For anyone who managed to harbor doubts about Indicud after hearing “Just What Iam” and “King Wizard,” this seals it. Cudder is self-producing much of this album, including this track, but his formula seems to be working. And while there isn’t any real rapping, his vocals are great, leaving listeners with the feel-good vibe as promised. If 2012 was the year Kid Cudi returned to form, I’m predicting 2013 as the year he takes the game by storm.

Tayyib Ali & Cisco Adler — “California In The Winter” (Remix)
Cisco Adler and Tayyib Ali are dropping a new EP titled One Way soon. The collaborators released a remix to Cisco’s laid back track “California In The Winter.” Tayyib lends a hand by spitting a solid verse. Listen to the track above and look out for the EP in the near future.
Stream: Skrillex — Leaving EP
Skrillex is starting off the new year with an eclectic sounding project entitled Leaving EP. The EP consists of three songs that all have their own unique sound. “The Reason” is an electronic influenced track while “Scary Bolly Dub” stays true to Skrillex’s WUBWUBWUB sounding dubstep drops. He’s been playing “Scary Bolly Dub” in his sets for ages, so the remix doesn’t seem sound all that new. Lastly, “Leaving”, the title track off of the project has more of an ambient sound and relaxed vibe. Overall, Skrillex delivered a solid project to start off 2013.

Cris Cab ft. The Green – “The Fire”

Cris Cab premiered his new single featuring The Green on the Hawaiin radio station Island 98.5. The reggae influenced track definitely has a feel good vibe. “The Fire” is produced by Brent Paschke, Cris Cab, and PJ McGinnis.
So Fly by Childish Gambino (QuietLuke Cover/Remix)
Quiet Luke, formerly known as Luke Bahta and boTABOOm, remixed Childish Gambino’s mixtape track “So Fly.” The young artist showcases his production abilities on this remix which also highlights his great vocals. The layered beat along with Quiet Luke’s vocal range prove that Quiet Luke is definitely a name to look out for in 2013. Not only is he taking dabs at producing and singing currently, he is also a talented rapper. Hopefully we’ll be hearing more from Luke in the new year. Quiet Luke will be taking his talents to NYU, congratulate him on his fan page and check out Quiet Luke’s version of “So Fly” below.
The Mowgli’s – “San Francisco”
We’re back with yet another indie-tune. The Mowgli’s is a collection of friends from Los Angeles who simply love making music, and they’re pretty great at it too. “San Francisco” is reminiscent of indie-sensation singles “Little Talks” by Of Monsters And Men and “Home” by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes. It has that same part-folk, part-brass, California sunshine vibe going on. The only downside is that the fantastic single is under 3 minutes. I hope to see more from these guys in the near future.
