On December 16th, history was made. Swedish House Mafia took on The Garden in NYC and “turned MSG into a night club” as Steve Angello tweeted late Friday night. The Swedish DJs came up with the idea to perform at the legendary Madison Square Garden as a joke, but with the help of alcohol that night, one of the members ended up booking it in late summer (RollingStone).
I just got back from the SHM show at MSG and I have no words to describe it other than life-changing. As Justin said to me after the concert, “It set the standard for everything else in life”. I can’t really elaborate on that, but tomorrow we will come through with a full detailed review that will be very sentimental (well at least Liao’s part will be). It was amazing watching the whole crowd dance to every song. It’s one thing to be shouting out the words/beats and fist pumping, but on December 16th, 2011, SHM “turned MSG into a night club” as Steve Angello just tweeted. I can talk about this concert forever, but I will save the excessive writing for tomorrow…Stream and download the full set in HD below and look out for high quality footage from the concert tomorrow! SHM consists of three of the biggest faces in the EDM industry right now and tonight proved that. History was made tonight. Hit the jump for the tracklist and live footage

Although I’m not supposed to be on my computer since I had a concussion, I thought it’d be necessary to post about Avicii’s show at the legendary NYC nightclub, Studio 54 last night. Studio 54 was re-opened for one night and one night only October 18th and Avicii was the perfect DJ to make it such a big event. I realize that Avicii may not be the best DJ out there and I saw a lot of comments saying how he isn’t worthy of playing at Studio 54, but let me say the hype around him right now is huge and he still creates great, enjoyable music that has just been gaining more EDM fans. Also everyone knows about Avicii’s upcoming NYE show in NYC and how fast it sold out, making Avicii one of the most popular DJ’s in NY, alongside Deadmau5 (who I was recently able to cop tickets to see on this upcoming New Years Eve). Tim Bergling was a part of history last night at Studio 54 (oh yes I just linked wiki, it has some solid info about the club). To be quite honest, I didn’t really know much about this “great” nightclub that hadn’t been used for 30+ years ago. But after talking to my Dad about it, it seemed like the place to be back in the day. He told me that the heavy drug use, especially cocaine usage was why they closed it. Sirius XM hosted this one night opening and thanks to them we have have a download link for the full set below!! To get into this concert, you either had to be on the infamous guestlist (celebrities like Andy Cohen and Cameron Diaz were included on the list, along with “supermodels”- joonbug) or you had to have the money to tip the doormen (around $700 according to joonbug, and Avicii’s status also included that only 100 tickets were available). Now if you have the money, cool..enjoy, but damn for one night, I can’t imagine spending that much. I still wish I could have been there though.
