According to the Down With The Trumpets Songfacts, Rizzle Kicks is a British Hip-Hop/Pop duo comprising Jordan “Rizzle” and Harley “Sylvester.” Technically, Rizzle Kicks was founded in about 1996, when both members, in their miniature form, used to play together, round Rizzle’s aunties house. It wasn’t until 8 years later when the pair re-found each other, after both moving to Brighton and joining the local Sunday league, by facing eachother head-on in a football match. 4 years later, they ended up going to the same college, and one day when Rizzle got Sylvester to ‘Lalala’ all over a track, he then realized that the kind of style Sylvester had fitted in nicely with the sound that was growing. Jordan and Harley were signed by Island Records after making a series of videos to accompany their songs.

If you know this site, you know that we pretty much never post anything over a week old, but I’m making this song the first exception (its only 2 weeks old anyway) . My friend Jason just showed this to me, and it definitely deserves a post. M83 is a band by French musician Anthony Gonzalez, started in 2001. Their sound is an Indie-Electronic blend, very similar to Crystal Castles and Neon Indian. The underlying synth riff in this song is a catchy as hell, and the saxophone gives it really unique sound.
Dada Life just dropped the new music video to their hit ‘Happy Violence’ through RollingStone. The visuals depict an office full of workers getting excited when their stock increases. I found the video interesting and I can’t get enough of this song. You can check out Kaskade’s remix here or buy the Happy Violence EP on Beatport here. To watch the video click ‘Read More’. If you liked the song as much as I did please buy it, but I know everyone can’t buy it so I also included a download link after the jump from my purchase.
Yonas’ remix to ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ was by far one of my favorites and he just dropped the official music video. I didn’t notice till now, but he’s rockin` a UMich fitted #swag. GO BLUE! I am excited to see him open for The White Panda on December 27th in NYC.

Opening for Pretty Lights in Nashville
A few days ago, I was pondering whether or not I should see Pretty Lights at the Illumination Festival. After talking to Raffi and some friends here, I decided to go. I knew that Pretty Lights was amazing live and I do like him but I was never a huge fan. After this show though, I changed my mind completely. I got to the concert right when Pretty Lights came on and from the very start, it was insanity. The light show was absolutely incredible. He constantly interacted with the huge sold out crowd, calling this concert “the last but craziest concert of his two and half month long tour.” The peak of the concert had to be when he played “I Know the Truth.” This was already my favorite Pretty Lights song and it did not disappoint live. As the previous song came to an end, there was a 30 second break as the crowd waited anxiously for the next song. As the audience started chanting “USA USA”, Pretty Lights dropped it and it was just mayhem after that. The video is provided if you click “Read More.” We also have the videos of the intro and the finale when he drops “Finally Moving.” This was definitely one of the best concerts I’ve been to and I highly recommend you go if Pretty Lights is in your area.

The less Flo Rida I hear in the song, the better it is. Australian producer Hook N Sling added synths to the background vocals and gets rid of Flo Rida’s useless verses. Once the beat drops, it sounds great, definitely give this remix a listen. If you like this remix you can cop it on Beatport here and check out Bingo Players Remix also that sounds more anthem-like.
