Big Sean FINALLY dropped his highly anticipated mixtape, Detroit. I’ve been waiting for a new Big Sean mixtape since the release of Sean’s debut album, Finally Famous. I remember right before the release of the album, Big Sean announced that he has a mixtape that is almost done and will be out before the album. Then the album release date came along and he said it is “coming soon.” Knowing Big Sean and considering how many push-backs Finally Famous Vo. 3 had suffered, I realized that the new mixtape won’t see the light of day for at least a year. Well after much trial & error Big Sean officially presented his first solo project since his major label debut album. Whether this is the same material that he planned on dropping last year or all new material is up to you to decide, But I can at least tell you that Big Sean really put a lot of time into perfecting this mixtape. He still sounds hungry even though he has seen a lot of success in the last two years. Detroit features Kendrick Lamar, Mike Posner, Tyga, J Cole & more. It is most definitely worth downloading. It is amazing to see Sean’s progression from back when Kanye signed him to now. He really has a more defined sound on Detroit than past projects, but it is definitely comparable to his last mixtape Finally Famous Vol. 3. Stream/download Detroit below.
