Back when I started this site in summer, I thought Throwback Thursdays would be a great way to keep the site relevant…and then school started & I realized I’m a lazy blogger, so it never continued after 3 volumes haha. Well, today’s been a slow day for music blogs and its a Thursday, so I thought I would post a throwback article on two of my favorite freshmen artists (I don’t know if I can still call them freshmen anymore). Both Big Sean and Mike Posner dropped their major label debut albums last year, but I wanted to bring you some of their first collaborations that I still play on my iTunes till this day. Back when Mike Posner went to Duke, he dropped a mixtape on iTunes as a free podcast and my friend showed it to me one day. The chill production and great voice by Posner made A Matter Of Time one of my most listened to mixtapes. This guy Big Sean had a couple of features on the tape, and at the time I didn’t realize that he signed to Kanye and Def Jam the year before. After hearing Sean’s verses on ‘Who Knows?’, I had to get more of him. Later that year, I download his mixtapes and became a huge Big Sean fan. Posner was the one got me into Sean and since then I’ve been anticipating Finally Famous for a while now. I think his debut delivered for what its worth, but that’s another discussion. Ok, so where am I getting with this post? To be honest, I have no idea..I just stumbled upon some Mike and Sean collabs on my iTunes today and felt the sudden urge to post it on YGM for those who haven’t heard these old good tracks. All download links are direct. First three tracks are off of Posner’s first mixtape, then the next two are off of his second tape. ‘Ambiguous’ is off of Big Sean’s most recent mixtape and lastly the final song is a leak that was supposed to appear on Big Sean’s debut, but didn’t make the cut (has over a 100 listen in my iTunes).

To finish this post off, Big Sean announced over the summer on Twitter that he was working on a full mixtape with Mike Posner…but you know how Sean is, never staying true to his word. Hopefully we get that tape one day.
